Tea Cup Candle Party Favours

Candle Making How To:
What you will need to get started:
  • wax
  • wicks (pre tabbed wicks are also available)
  • tea cups
  • wax melter
  • thermometer
  • fragrances *optional
  • dyes *optional
Step 1: Place a large pot that is half-filled with water over low-medium heat, place a melter in the water, then gradually place wax pieces into the melter. When the has melted colouring and fragrance can be added.


Step 2: Keep temperature of wax around 185 degrees

Step 3: Cut a piece of wick to 2 inches greater than the teacup's height. Clamp one end of the wick to a wick sustainer; tie the other around a wooden skewer. Dip wick and sustainer into melted wax to coat. Remove and press sustainer to the teacup's bottom.

Step 4: Pour wax into teacup, stopping 1/2 inch below the cup's rim. Let stand for 1 hour. After candle has been left to stand, to even well in centre of candle gently pour melted wax until surface is 1/4 inch below the rim.
